Q. With all the talk about new "hate crime laws," why is nothing being done about those who fake hate crimes? There are a number of instances and examples that come to mind. Examples of hate crime hoaxes: Post-9/11, Muslims burned down their own stores in attempts to commit insurance fraud. At university, many fake assaults. Gays have burned down their own dorm rooms and circulated "anti-gay" fliers. Remember Miranda Prather?
