Also Internet killer is an appellation found in media reports for a person who broadcasts the crime of murder online or who murders a victim met through the Internet. The first known murder of a victim met online was in 1996. Depending on the venue used, other terms used in the media are Internet chat room killer, Craigslist killer, Internet serial killer. Q. I'm looking for information about a rape/murder by janitor of two employees that took place on Monday, Labor Day, 1984, in Sacramento, California. The two victims were female employees of Progressive Insurance in Rancho Cordova (Sacto County) and were working alone in the building on Monday, Labor Day in 1984 and were brutally stabbed to death by a male janitor working in the building that day. The women were the only two employees in the building at the time. One was also raped. I'm a former employee of Progressive Insurance and worked at that same branch one year later (that branch office moved its location a couple of miles away after the murders). I was always curious about that case, as I ironically worked in the exact same… [cont.] Asked by cinderella - Sat Jan 19 06:17:08 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. This was a real tragedy. Too many murders out of Rancho Cordova then, and now. rcpd won't be of any help with this. rcpd is sacramento county sheriff's dept under contract to the city of rancho cordova to provide law enforcement services. they will tell you to look up news articles. google news archive has the newsbank archives from sacramento bee in 1984. has names, dates, etc. . you could then do public document searches. Sacramento County Municipal Courts web site has a case index which, once you had the murderer's name, you could search to get case numbers to use and further research the case. I think death is an absolutely fasinating subject, especially the afterlife part!I love to hear stories about neardeath experiences! It`s all about how you look at it.What is her interest in it?It wouldn`t be good if its morbid or if she just wants to look at gross pictures! Answered by pumpkin - Tue Aug 15 14:25:20 2006 How could the release of a 911 tape interfere with an ongoing investigation?
Q. For my final project in my Legal Research course, I have to write a brief supporting a local police department's refusal to release a 911 tape of a homicide. I have searched the internet and tried to find cases, but am not having any luck. I was hoping that someone in law enforcement could give me an opinion on how I could make a valid argument why FOIA would not apply in this situation. You can speak in generalities or hypotheticals because all the information I have is that there is a 911 tape of a suspected homicide. I have no other information. Thanks for your time. Asked by Cesaria Barbarossa - Tue Mar 31 11:23:50 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. The 911 tape is evidence. Evidence is classified during an investigation because it can be altered or changed. If the caller says his or her name, it could be a safety issue. Also if it is a tape of a "suspected homicide" they are not sure who, what, when, where, or why ... and they don't want to scare the public.
