The specific legal definition varies by legal jurisdiction. Fraud is a crime, and is also a civil law violation. Many hoaxes are fraudulent, although those not made for personal gain are not technically frauds. Defrauding people of money is presumably the most common type of fraud, but there have also been many fraudulent "discoveries" in art, archaeology, and science. And later found out it was less then 300.00 dollars. And a fraud referral was reported. What can happen? And it was not done intensionaly and by mistake. An honest mistake. The state this person lives in is Michigan This person told me they had no idea they were suppose to report their unemployment. They did not report on purpose.
